🏦 Bank of Mongolia Purchases 2.43 Tonnes of Precious Metals in June 📈
The Bank of Mongolia purchased 2,430.2 kilograms of precious metals in June 2026, bringing total purchases for the first six months of the year to 7.4 tonnes, representing a 27.1% increase compared with the same period last year.
📊 Of the June purchases, 1,410.0 kg was acquired through the Bayanhongor branch, while the Darhan Uul branch purchased 288.4 kg, reflecting continued growth in domestic gold supply.
💰 The Bank of Mongolia determines its precious metals purchase prices based on international market prices. In June 2026, the average purchase price for one gram of gold reached MNT 488,276.75.
⚡ The sharp increase in June purchases follows several months of relatively lower procurement volumes, indicating a recovery in domestic precious metals supply and stronger participation by local gold producers.
