🗳️ 100 Reform Initiatives Delivered in the Government’s First 100 Days 🗣️

In partnership with

🏛️Prime Minister Uchral N. marked the first 100 days of his administration by highlighting the implementation of the national “Unlock” initiative, a reform program aimed at reducing regulatory barriers, strengthening private sector development, and improving public sector governance.

🏛️ Key reforms announced include:

  • The restructuring of Erdenes Mongol into Chinggis Khaan Sovereign Wealth Fund Group LLC, aligning its governance with Mongolia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Law and international governance standards.

  • A strategic shift from managing mining operations to professionally managing and growing the nation’s wealth through long-term asset management.

  • Continued efforts to digitize public services, reduce bureaucratic procedures, expand the use of artificial intelligence in government services, and minimize direct administrative intervention.

📑 The Prime Minister emphasized that the Government’s priority has been removing unnecessary permits, administrative burdens, and regulatory barriers that constrain businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises.

The administration also highlighted ongoing reforms related to taxation, housing transaction policies, investment, state-owned enterprises, transparency, and increasing the economic benefits derived from the Oyu Tolgoi project.

💼 Looking ahead, the Government stated it will continue advancing structural reforms designed to create a more competitive business environment, strengthen private sector participation, reduce the state’s role in commercial activities, and improve the efficiency and transparency of public administration.

💡 Ard Insight

The Government’s first 100 days have been centered on structural economic reform rather than short-term stimulus measures. While many initiatives remain at the policy implementation stage, the success of the “Liberate” agenda will ultimately depend on whether regulatory simplification, institutional reform, and private sector liberalization translate into measurable improvements in Mongolia’s investment climate and economic competitiveness.
